Blessed Silavwe is Marketer by profession with a background in Information Technology, specifically Enterprise Resource Planning. Her career has evolved from commercial marketing to social marketing over the years. Having worked in a commercial environment for private sector for over 10 years, Blessed discovered a passion within, which is her love for people and processes. Processes that help alleviate life’s challenges and upgrade the quality of life and livelihoods. This discovery reshaped her career goals and life vision. As an Independent Marketing consultant her pursued client base basically comprised of private sector, however, this subsequently diversified towards a keen interest in Civil Society. Eventually familiarized with civil Society, she has worked closely with several local and International Organizations in various structures such as Local Partner Consortiums, cooperating partner partnerships. This has also included participation on Stakeholder collaboration forums between Private Sector, Public Sector and Civil Society as a mouth piece for marginalized communities, contributing to Policy and Regulatory reform at regional level, that commonly affect the masses. Her thematic experience includes HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness, Palliative Care, Promotion of SRHR, Promotion of PMTC, Economic empowerment, Disaster Risk Reduction, Environmental Conservation, OVS Care and support, and Capacity Building. Her natural love for people and desire to see every human being accorded a basic decent standard of living and quality of life has continued to inspire her. Following her short term engagement with HODI a local NGO, and her role as Country Coordinator for the Stop ADIS Now Zambia Consortium, Blessed has since been actively involved in Civil Society for the promotion of Community development and advocacy. Her role as Board Member for FIOH Zambia has been significantly instrumental in fulfilling her passion for humanity.
